I know I shouldn't be worrying about this and I have received a lot of reassurance but I still can't stop thinking about it. Kailin is a big time spitter upper :) and she only eats around once every 3 to 4 hours. If she eats more she gets a tummy ache and is grumpy. I was thinking that she was growing well and then I have seen my friends and family members babies that are younger than her and they are bigger by at least 2 lbs. It is crazy because she was born 8lbs 6 oz and at her two month appt only weighed 9lbs 12 oz, only one lb and 6 oz bigger. I have a friend whose baby was born the same day and he is now over 13lbs at his two month appt. I know it probably doesn't matter that she went from the 65% to the 25% in weight, our pediatrician didn't seem too worried but for some reason it worries me. Another concern I have is her right eye. It gets really gupy(not a word but a lot of drainage) I massage her tear duct and can't seem to unclog it. Any suggestions from moms who have had this with their babies would be great.
She will probably be a petite firecracker :). She does an awesome job holding up her head and she will stand on your lap if you let her. To help me feel better I have included a list for you of things she likes currently:
- When daddy comes home she smiles
- Loves to have the blanket over her face to sleep(placed there by herself)
- Loves dark colors
- Loves Tucan the Parrot on her swing
- Loves her swing
- Calms down the minute I start running pushing her in her stroller
- Loves to be outside
- Bath time
Things she doesn't like:
Being Cold
Being really tired
Sore tummy

I think Marcus is just a chunk! Kailin is probably just perfect! Marcus still has one goopy eye every now and again when his tear duct gets clogged. I use a warm damp wash cloth to massage it and I do it every once in a while to hopefully keep it at bay.
Don't worry- we all look at other babies and compare....BUT all babies grow differently! If I were to compare my own childrens' growth charts they would all be way different. Even the twins grew at different rates.
I know its hard, but try not to worry about it! :D
Thanks you guys. I don't know why I am comparing just one of those crazy things I do as a mom I guess :). I am also happy that all of my friends including yours are healthy..There are so many things to be thankful for :)
Cynthia,
I am not a mom, but you might want to see if she has acid reflux. It could be causing her to regurgitate what she is eating. You can research the symptoms on webMD. Hope you found the answers you need. See you guys soon!
I wouldn't worry, we were happy when Addi was in the 3%. Like mentioned before using a wet washcloth to clean her eye is a good idea. If it continues she may need some eye drops. Addi's eyes were like that once and her pediatrician prescribed some for her. As for the eating issue, I was thrown up on at least once a day for months. It's probably no big deal but she may be allergic or have an intolerance to something in your milk. I would also watch to see if her spitting up gets worse depending on what you eat.
It's hard not knowing all the answers, but I'm sure she's a healthy little girl. Good Luck!
Max had a clogged tear duct that caused that goopy stuff...we just wiped with a warm cloth frequently - they grow out of it. If you think she spits up more than the average it could be acid reflux - Max had that too :) He survived, but it would've been good to know it could've been his food allergies but then again there's no way I could've afforded specialty formula either :) You're such a great mommmy!
